A 51-year-old woman died Sunday afternoon in a rafting accident on the Colorado River in unincorporated Grand County.

Authorities from the Bureau of Land Management and police from Kremmling and the Grand County Sheriff’s Office found the Kremmling woman unresponsive at the Radium Campground after her raft had overturned and she was removed from the water, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Attempts to try to resuscitate her were unsuccessful and she was declared dead at the campground.

The coroner’s office will release her identity and cause and manner of death at a later time, according to the sheriff’s office.
