It didn’t take long for the screenshots to reach Sean Payton after Thursday night’s loss to Kansas City.

His play sheet, the two-minute section of it to be specific, on display for the whole country to read plainly.

On Wednesday he downplayed the significance of everybody knowing that his codeword for quarterback sneak is “Converse.” Get it?

“I don’t worry about it,” Payton said. “When everyone sent that to me it was like, ‘Can you believe it?’ But the game is so spontaneous and so fast. The language, teams can look at and everything is on tape. You know that idea of signing the practice squad player off the other team right before you play them? The only benefit of that would be the health of the team. In-depth information of guys, are they healthy?”

Basically, Payton said the game happens too fast for such keywords to matter to a defense.

“It’s hard to take that information and bring it in the division, let’s say, and go ‘here are the two-minute calls.’ Each night we’ve got a new term we use that we might put in. Trying to tell a defensive player that (this word means that), he’s going to look at you like you’re nuts.

“I don’t think much of it. But I saw it.”
