A pedestrian was hit by a Regional Transportation District train in Thornton on Friday afternoon, temporarily halting service on the N Line, according to the agency.

The collision occurred near East 97th Avenue and Welby Road at 1:21 p.m., according to police spokesperson Joe Walker and a Thornton police post on X. The woman was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.

RTD temporarily halted service while emergency medical services were on scene, agency spokesperson Tina Jaquez said. The N Line resumed service at 3:20 p.m.

This is the second time a pedestrian has been hit by an RTD train in the past three weeks. A pedestrian was killed in a collision with an RTD train on Nov. 16 in the 600 block of Mariposa Street in Denver.
