Law enforcement officials have issued an arrest warrant in the homicide investigation of two Kansas women whose remains were found in Kiowa County in September.

Phillip Lieurance, 36, of Emporia, Kansas, is wanted in connection with the deaths of Linda Estrada and Amy Ford, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

Lieurance is in custody at the Chase County Jail in Kansas on unrelated charges. His Colorado arrest affidavit is sealed, according to the Kiowa County Court Clerk’s Office.

Estrada, 44, and Ford, 39, were reported missing on Sept. 11 to the Emporia Police Department. Investigators tracked them to Colorado using cell phone data and security videos. Their remains were discovered south of Eads on Sept. 20.

The cause and nature of Estrada and Ford’s deaths are still under investigation, said Kiowa County Coroner Jimmy Brown, and will likely take six to eight weeks to finalize.
