“I’m not at a loss for words, I’m just trying to seize the moment.” — Sanders’ opening words before he was off and running.

“I met my match … I met somebody that was profound and caring.” — speaking about athletic director Rick George.

“It is my dream to bring you back to where you know you should belong.” — on bringing glory back to CU football.

“The kids, they want exposure, they want to be on television, they want the (big) lights and action. We’re going to give them that. We’re going to give them the followers, we’re going to give them the attention, we’re going to give them the love and the support.” — on his plan to bring talented players to CU

“Sometimes I may just look like an old fool, but I’m old school.” — on his demands that his players be respectful student-athletes

“Rick (George), I know you said I’d bring the heat, but literally, we’re bringing the heat. Could somebody turn on the air around here?” — on the toasty atmosphere during the jam-packed news conference

“Usually when you are great at something … I mean really great … I was really great … I’m joking, you’ll come to understand my sense of humor … But I kind of wasn’t joking, I really was (great).” — when asked what he brings to CU

“My calling is not built on the location, it’s built on the destination. Now that was good, you’re all supposed to clap for that!” — when asked about leaving Jackson State for Colorado

“This place ain’t cheap, I do know that.” — on moving to Boulder

“We’re going to win. I’m not going to put a timetable on it, but it’s going to happen.” — on CU’s football future
